Portugal Digital Summit’18 saw the United Kingdom as a guest country, and with the consequent parallel realization of an eCommerce Roundtable in the Hall of the Ministry of Economy, in which 30 executives from public and private organizations from both countries discussed the opportunities, challenges and the potential of cross-border e-commerce, with the presence of the Secretary of State for Consumer Protection and the British Ambassador to Portugal. From the Carlos Lopes Pavilion in Lisbon, the PDS’18 was also the stage for the dissemination of data from the 2018 edition of the study “Digital Economy in Portugal 2009-2025”, as well as several talks and debates held around three “Pillars” – Strategy for Digital, Industries Going Digital and TechTalks – all of them having the digital economy and transformation as the guiding principle, and mirroring ACEPI’s mission and its main lines of action. Between October 23 and 24, more than 130 speakers participated in the panels and debates of the PDS. To “watch” the sessions – and to “visit the exhibition space – were over 3,500 people.
